A new blogger's very first blog post

Hello Guys,

Before I introduce myself, I would like to thank Gaurav for allowing me this great opportunity to write in "View Your Choice's" Blog. I am very excited to share with you guys the choices that I have made in my life so far and share with you my opinions and interests.

So you might be thinking who I might be or if you have met me before. I am pretty sure if you are reading this post and you know Gaurav, there might be a slight chance that you might formally or informally know me. As you know he knows a lot of youths who are active and have very close connection to most of us. I got the opportunity to meet him through a friend back in the days when we used to be very active in raising awareness through the medium of 'forum theater'. Still to this day, my choice to do so was one of the best choices.

My name is Parash Upreti and I am originally from Naubise, Dhading. I am an undergraduate student at the University of Northern Iowa, in a small town Iowa known as Cedar Falls studying Economics and Math. The reason I chose UNI was because of the scholarship they offered me, the excellent programs they had here with very good professors, and student faculty ratio. Also I had realized that they pay personal attention to each individual through the communication we used to have back in the days before I stared my education here. I came to find out that it was an Iowan culture to do so soon as I got here.

This is my sophomore year here and I plan to go to graduate school after I complete my undergraduate but there is a long time before I do so. In the meantime, I am spending my college experience by meeting new people from around the world, being active in student organization on campus and sharing my Nepali heritage to Americans and other people from around the world. Most of the people I have met are at least aware that Mt. Everest is in Nepal. I plan to educate the people I come across about Nepalese, culture, geography and our heritage.
