Embassy of India in Kathmandu and B.P. Koirala India-Nepal Foundation organized the 11th edition of Voices, a B.P. Koirala India-Nepal Foundation initiative on Wednesday, April 02, 2014 at Nepal Bharat Library, Nepal Airlines Building, New Road.

On its eleventh edition, noted art curator, poet and editor/publisher of International Gallerie magazine from India, +Bina Sarkar Ellias gave a talk on Celebrating Cultural Diversity through Arts.

Ellias introduced her magazine  International Gallerie to the audience through a visual presentation and shared how it has been working rigorously to promote the cultural diversity among people across the world.

In her talk, she shared about the importance of cultural and geopolitical sense, the affinities between the culture of East and West Bengal. She highlighted about the contemporary culture of Iran and emphasized on the need for the world to cross the territorial, religious and intellectual boundaries.
“It’s fascinating to realize how the socio-political climate of any nation informs the work of its creative community,” shared Ellias. 
Bina Sarkar Ellias, who currently is in Kathmandu to closely understand the Nepali art, culture, traditions and lifestyle added, 
“It’s a wonderful feeling being in Nepal. This is my third visit but in a way I could say it the first proper visit for my last visits were very brief. I am so glad to see such diversity in Nepal in every field. I will definitely try to promote Nepal’s rich culture through my magazine.”
