Fair Practices in Food System

Food system is related to nutrition, food, health, community economic development and agriculture. A food system includes all processes and infrastructure involved in feeding a population: growing, harvesting, processing, packaging, transporting, marketing, consumption, and disposal of food and food-related items. The concept of Fair Food  is of top priority to achieve sustainability in  food system. Intersection of food systems, sustainability, and social equity has crucial role in accessbility to healthy, fresh food.


Youth and the R&D can utilize each other’s knowledge and skills up to greater extend:
Highlighting Interaction Programme on Fair Food System.







 Considering to this fact, Nepal Food Technology Students’ Association along with Local Initiatives for Biodiversity Research and Development organized a multidisciplinary   based Discussion Programme on Prospectus and Challenges of Fair Food System in Nepalese Context on the date of May 28 2014.


 The stakeholders of NEFTSA Concluded with the future  prospect of  implementing model programmes and to  bring the right people together to generate ideas, share experiences, and promote fair food practices to  change our food system in more fair, green and Healthier.



Ashim Sigdel is a Research Scholar of Food Science and Technology at Tribhuvan University, Pokhara Bigyan Tatha Prabidhi Campus.He is  working in Food Security, and Safety at Local Food promotional net, sensitizing on Fair practices in Food system.
